Challenge

A dairy producer in the United States needed to replace leaking Progressive Cavity Pumps used for transferring ricotta cheese. The product is highly viscous, contains large solids, and its water content settles quickly, making pumping and suction lift challenging. The objective was to pump the cheese without damaging solids and eliminate leaking seals.

Benefits / Results

  • Successfully pulled suction and maintained flow while operators fed product into the tank outlet

  • Installation was later duplicated across nine rows of three tanks
